Graduate Research Assistantship


Graduate Research Assistantship Grant Description:

Graduate students working or interested in collaborating with a John Jay College faculty member can be funded up to $2000.00 for approximately 125 hours per semester. Students receiving this grant are strongly encouraged to share their research during the spring Graduate Research Symposium.

NOTE: Not all applicants will be funded; selection will be based on the criteria articulated below.

Graduate Research Assistantship Grant Review Criteria:

  • Collaborates with a John Jay College faculty member as a mentor

Works on a specific research project(s) and provides:

  1. Research title
  2. Research abstract
  3. Name and email of John Jay faculty/mentor
  • Answers the following questions on application: 1.  how the pandemic has impacted you and your academic career; 2. how the funds will contribute to achieving academic goals and career goals; 3. how the funds will be used
  • Submits the completed application on time via google form
  • Attends a pre-application workshop
